For Delhi Capitals, Shafali Verma’s aggressive 45 off 28 balls set the tone for the chase. Meg Lanning finished things off with an unbeaten 38, combining well with Alice Capsey in a match-winning partnership of 72.
On the bowling side, SOPHIE DEVINE took 3/23 for Delhi Capitals, exploiting the movement available early in the innings. Her spell broke the back of the UP Warriorz middle order.
This win moved Delhi Capitals up to third place on the points table, keeping their playoff hopes alive with two matches remaining. UP Warriorz remain in fifth position with just one win from five matches, making their path to the playoffs significantly harder.
UP Warriorz play Mumbai Indians in their next match – essentially a must-win if they want to stay in contention. Delhi Capitals face Gujarat Giants knowing that another victory would essentially seal their playoff spot.
