The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana gives money to farming families across India. Each year, eligible farmers get Rs 6,000 in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. Here’s what you need to know about the 22nd installment and how to check if you’re getting paid.
What PM Kisan Is
PM-Kisan started in February 2019. It’s a government program that puts money directly into farmers’ bank accounts. No middlemen, no paperwork at the local level—just Rs 2,000 arriving every few months.
Over 9 crore farmer families are enrolled. That’s a lot of people getting help with seeds, fertilizer, and other farming costs.
When Will the 22nd Installment Come?
The 21st installment came in November 2024. Based on how the schedule usually works, the 22nd installment should arrive around March or April 2025.
I said “should” because the exact date changes sometimes. The government announces it through pmkisan.gov.in, and that’s where you need to check. Don’t trust random dates you see on WhatsApp or other websites.
How to Check Your Status
Here’s what works:
- Go to pmkisan.gov.in
- Click “Farmer Corner” on the right side
- Select “Beneficiary Status”
- Enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account details
- Click “Get Data”
The page will show which installments you’ve received and whether any payments are pending.
Other options:
- Download the PM Kisan mobile app (Android or iOS)
- Visit your nearest Common Service Centre
- Call 155261 or 011-23381092
Who Gets PM Kisan?
You qualify if your family owns less than two hectares of land. A “family” means husband, wife, and kids.
You’re NOT eligible if you:
- Hold a constitutional post (current or former)
- Work for the government (except multi-tasking staff)
- Paid income tax last year
- Are a doctor, engineer, or lawyer
You need an Aadhaar card, a bank account linked to Aadhaar, and land documents to register.
Problems People Face
Why Does Status Show “Pending” or “Rejected”?
Three things usually cause this:
- Aadhaar mismatch – Your name or number doesn’t match exactly what’s in bank records
- Bank problems – The account isn’t NPCI-enabled or has wrong IFSC codes
- Land verification delays – Your state hasn’t confirmed your land records yet
How to Fix It
Update your details on the PM Kisan portal under “Edit Bank Details.” If that doesn’t work, visit your Block Development Office or local agricultural department. They can check what’s actually stuck.
Also make sure your bank account is active and linked to Aadhaar.
The Payment Schedule
PM Kisan usually releases three installments per year:
- First installment (April-July): December to March
- Second installment (August-November): April to July
- Third installment (December-March): August to November
The dates shift sometimes. The 21st installment came in late 2024, so the 22nd should follow in early 2025.
What Farmers Get
Each Rs 2,000 installment helps cover:
- Seeds and fertilizers
- Labor costs
- Pesticides
- General household expenses
The money goes straight to bank accounts. This cuts down on the corruption that used to plague farm subsidies.
Total disbursed since 2019: over Rs 2 lakh crore. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat have the most beneficiaries.

Bottom Line

Make sure your Aadhaar details and bank account are correct. If money isn’t coming through, the problem is usually a mismatch in your records—get it fixed at your Block Office.
